You can use activities in Salesforce to track all important tasks and events related to your leads and customers.
View Activities
- Find and open the record where you want to log an activity.
Activities can be logged on most Salesforce records.
- Scroll down until you can see the Activities list.
Activities are usually located further down the page.
There are usually two activity lists:
- Open Activities: Tasks you haven't completed yet.
- Activity History: Completed tasks, past events, and any important activity you might have logged.
Create a Task
- Click New Task in the Open Activities list.
- Enter a Subject and any optional Comments.
- Select a Due Date.
- Click Save.
The task appears in the Open Activities section - and it will also appear in the Tasks area of the Home tab.
Complete a Task
- Click Cls next to the task you want to mark complete.
The task appears.
- Click Save to mark it as complete.
The task is moved from the Open Activities list to the Activity History list.
Log a Call or Activity
You can also log calls - or any kind of important activity - to keep a record of it.
- Click Log a Call in the Activity History list.
- Enter a Subject and any optional Comments.
- Click Save.
Salesforce records the activity and displays it in the Activity History list.
