Format the Background

Applying a page background, like a color or rule lines, helps to differentiate and organize your notes.

Page Color

1. Click the View tab.
2. Click the Page Color button.
3. Select a page color.
   

Rule Lines

Now if you want your notes to look more like a real notebook, add some lines to the page.

1. Click the Rule Lines list arrow.
2. Select a Rule Lines option.
3. Click a line where you want to add notes.
4. Type your notes.
   

This helps to have a little more organization on the page.

Grid Lines

1. Click the Rule Lines list arrow.
2. Select a Grid Lines option.
   
3. Click the Draw tab.
4. Turn on the pen tool.
5. Draw your notes on the graph paper.
   

Turn Off Grid Lines

1. Click the View tab.
2. Click the Rule Lines button.
   

The lines are removed from the notebook page.
