Invite People

  1. Click the File tab.
    Invite People
  2. Click Share.

    Because the notebook is already shared you see a few different sharing options here. This first option allows you to send an email right from OneNote.

  3. Click the Address Book icon.

  4. Select a contact.
  5. Click the To button.
  6. Click OK.

    You can give others the ability to edit the notebook, or just view it.

  7. Click the Can edit list arrow and select an option.
  8. (Optional) Enter some notes about the notebook.
  9. Click Share.

An email is sent to with a link to the notebook's OneDrive location.

Share a Link

From the Share section of Backstage view, you can create a link to the notebook that can be sent out to allow others to view or edit the notebook.

  1. Click Get a Sharing Link.
  2. Click Create Link next to View Link or Edit Link, depending on the type of link you want to generate.

  3. Right-click the link.
  4. Select Copy.

  5. Open an email message.

  6. Click where you want the link to go.
  7. Click Paste.
  8. Click Send.
