CustomGuide has donated $30,000 to the non-profit AMILAT (Asociación Amigas para Latinoamerica), in El Salvador. The organization used the funds to install a computer lab in its school, which serves 250 students from the AMILAT orphanage, as well as other orphanages in the city.
CustomGuide’s founders, Jon and Dan High, decided to give the donation because they felt their gift could make an immediate impact. This early exposure to computers is giving the students a better future with new opportunities, according to President Jon High.
“We saw this as a great opportunity to make a difference, and it’s been more rewarding than we ever imagined,” High said.
CustomGuide has a connection to the organization that goes back several years. The extended family of CustomGuide’s founders has long volunteered at the orphanage, and High has also volunteered there with his family.
CustomGuide has a history of charity work, having provided free online training to qualified non-profits in the past. High said that the company hopes to continue its charity efforts in the future.

CustomGuide Online Learning Files Lawsuit Against CareerBuilder
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 7 — Minnesota-based CustomGuide filed a lawsuit today against CareerBuilder, LLC in the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois.
The twelve-count lawsuit asserts breach of contract, fraud, business tort and intellectual property claims, and other related actions. The lawsuit alleges that CareerBuilder made multiple misuses of CustomGuide’s proprietary products. Misuses include: Selling CustomGuide’s products to businesses without a license; selling products to consumers after the termination of a limited license; and altering CustomGuide client testimonials and attributing them to CareerBuilder.
“CareerBuilder Institute contacted CustomGuide because they wanted to resell our courses to personal users,” explained Jon High, President of CustomGuide. “CustomGuide only sells to the B2B market, so it seemed like an exciting opportunity.” The lawsuit alleges that CareerBuilder did not adhere to their contract and began making unauthorized sales to organizations in CustomGuide’s own B2B market as well.
The lawsuit seeks to enjoin CareerBuilder from this alleged misconduct and to recover substantial money damages.

CustomGuide, a leading provider of software training, today announced the general availability of their customizable online learning platform. CustomGuide’s new Customizable Learning Management System (CLMS) lets organizations create custom online courses that include only the topics they want. Custom courses can include both CustomGuide’s interactive software tutorials or the customer’s own online learning content.
“Most people today know the basics about popular software programs, like Microsoft Excel. The problem is they still don’t understand how to use more advanced functions like how to create a PivotTable,” said Jon High, president of CustomGuide. “Custom online learning courses allow trainers to create courses that include only the topics their learners need. In addition, trainers can build custom skills assessments to test existing skills, learning, and growth.”
